Hunters Catch and Kill One of the Biggest Alligators Ever Caught
Some hunters have cleverly tracked and killed one of the biggest alligators that has ever been caught.
According to a Metro UK report, some American hunters have caught one of the biggest alligators on record.
Chris Bishop, Hal Camp Jr. and Shane Milstead were scouting Kissimmee River, Florida, USA, over the weekend when they discovered the 13ft-long monster.
Bishop told TCPALM: ‘Usually, big gators don’t make any bubbles, but I think this one was so big it was making a bubble trail as it walked on the bottom of the river.
‘So with my spinning rod — the same kind I use for catching snook, tarpon or cobia — I made a cast about five feet ahead of it, and as I reeled the treble hook back to the boat, I felt it snag the gator. It just grabbed the bottom and held on.
‘That’s when we knew we had a big gator — when we had two hooks in the gator with two men on rods and couldn’t get it to move.’
After battling with the gator, they eventually managed to pulled it up from the bottom of the water.
They started to realize the sheer size of it as it came to the surface.
Bishop continued: ‘When we saw how big he was, then we got nervous about landing him.
Hal was right next to me and put a harpoon dart into its neck. I was able to grab the rope from the harpoon and pull it closer to us, and Shane hit it perfectly with the bang stick, ending the fight.’
The gator is so big that it’s weight maxed out the scales. The trio estimate it to weigh around 750 pounds or possible more.
The biggest alligator to have ever been recorded in Florida is 14ft and 3.5inches from Lake Washington in 2010.

Zulu Maidens Prepare To Undergo Virginity Testing To Affirm Their Purity
Every year, thousands of young girls arrive at the Zulu King Palace in Nongoma and have already undergone virginity testing in their districts throughout the province in a bid to get married to the king.
Thousands of maidens have undergone virginity testing in their districts throughout the province and now they are ready to affirm their purity before Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini this week.
Every spring‚ maidens arrive at the king’s Enyokeni Palace in Nongoma. And this year’s Reed Dance (Umkhosi Womhlanga)‚ facilitated by the KZN department of arts and culture and the Zulu royal household‚ takes place from September 8 to 10.
Virginity testing (ukuhlolwa kwezintombi ) is an ancient Zulu tradition that is regarded as an important rite of passage to womanhood. It’s a custom Zulus have in common with Swazis‚ a nation that historians describe as their closest tribal cousins.
In both nations‚ only virgins are supposedly allowed to take part in the Reed Dance to ensure that it remains ritually pure.
Before embarking on the annual trek to Nongoma‚ the maidens have to be tested by elderly women days before the pilgrimage to Enyokeni or to the Swazi Queen Mother’s Eludzidzini residence.
Those who pass the test take pride in their status and are lauded by their community as izintombi nto‚ pure maidens.
The idea is that by remaining pure‚ the maidens are safe from unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
Tests can be conducted randomly at night or very early in the morning before they present reeds to the monarchs. This ancient Zulu practice was largely neglected by previous Zulu kings until it was revived by King Zwelithini in 1984.
Non-school going maidens will present their reeds to the king on Friday‚ September 9, while learners will present theirs on Saturday, followed by an address by King Zwelithini.
The eNyokeni festival follows another Umkhosi Womhlanga held in Ingwavuma at the king’s Emachobeni Royal Palace the weekend before.
However‚ the Reed Dance has put the king on a collision course with human rights bodies and feminists‚ who have accused him of reviving a practice they regard as a violation of women’s rights. Concerns have also been raised about whether the women are willing participants in virginity testing.
But King Zwelithini has resisted all attempts to outlaw virginity testing‚ arguing that the practice promotes respect for women and virginity before marriage.

The General Overseer Worldwide of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Pastor Adeboye, says longevity is a good thing but that for him, he does not want to live up to 120 years. The clergyman who turned 75 in March this year, said this while delivering his sermon at the birthday service for Pastor Yerima El-Samaila of the Faith Foundation Church, who turned 70 years on Monday, September 4th.
“It is not how long you live but how well you spend your life, I don’t want to be 120 years old. Longevity is good but there is a limit. People don’t want to die because they don’t know where they are going; I know where I am going. I have seen heaven, I have seen my house in heaven, I know what is waiting for me there, heaven is beautiful, and I can’t wait to go there. I want to finish what I have to do here and finish it well, any of us can go at any moment we have to get ready for home,” he said
